What do you get when you combine a versatile up-and-coming child actor with a coming-of-age drama that spans from Nebraska to Las Vegas? You get what looks to be a spectacular performance by Chloe Moretz in the upcoming film, “Hick.”

In this red-band trailer (nothing specifically NSFW, but loads of violence), we see the progression of Luli (Moretz) as she makes the decision to strike out on her own and leave Nebraska, hitchhiking to Las Vegas as she searches for someone to love her. Obviously, she encounters plenty of the wrong kind of people, along with a few who seem to have her best interests at heart. Official Synopsis: Tired of fending for herself and her mother’s penchant for hard-drinking men and barroom drama, 13-year-old Luli (Chloe Moretz) hits the road on her own, heading west to realize her dream of becoming a superstar.

Among her travels she meets Eddie (Eddie Redmayne), a drifter with a chip on his shoulder, and Glenda (Blake Lively), a troubled but spirited woman who takes Luli under her wing. Luli’s quick wit, some help from Glenda, the mercurial Eddie, and her colorful daydreams help protect her from the incredibly unpredictable band of characters she encounters on her journey.
