...... ...... ...... Community is Ste-Genny's Singing Ministry group. ...... We are a group of people who love music and love singing. ...... We employ a wide variety of instruments, guitars, drums, flute, musical keyboard, bass, and various hand held instruments. ...... We perform songs with the congregation each Baptism Sunday and participate in "circle time" with the Sunday School to teach them a new theme song. The children then teach the congregation the new theme song. We also usually take part in special services such as the Christmas pageant and Christmas Eve service. ...... At least once a year we organize a coffeehouse, with proceeds divided equally among a chosen local charitable organization, a church-related project, and Community itself. Groups that have received funding include West Island Palliative Care hospital, Old Brewery Mission, VON, West Island Citizen Advocacy, AVATIL Center for Development, VOBOC Foundation, Women’s Shelter and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Community would like to thank the groups who give of their time and talent by participating in our coffeehouses! ...... Community has performed for many outreach projects as well. We’ve played at an Ecumenical Picnic, Senior Homes, Herbert Purcell Elementary, Side Door Café, Lakeside Heights Baptist Church and Roxboro United Church. ...... ........ .. .. ...... .. In July, 2006, some of Community's members visited the Maritimes and spent a couple of days in the Gaspe. On July 23, they played at St. Andrew's United Church in New Richmond, Quebec. ...... .. On May 26, we had the honour of accompanying Bruce and Cheryl Harding at the Montreal-Ottawa conference for the United Church, held at John Abbott.
